Grassroots Schoolmaster with potential for Novice/1*

16.2 11 year old Scottish Sports Horse.

Extremely experienced at BE90/100. He is an out and out Schoolmaster who knows his job inside and out. He has 18 Foundation Points and numerous top ten placings. He always does a smart dressage test and is an absolute cross country machine who is pretty much guaranteed to go clear inside the time. He has a huge heart and is one of the most incredibly genuine horses I have ever known. He will try his heart out for you, help you out of any situation and will jump pretty much anything from any stride. He has only 3 cross country jumping faults on his record out of 17 starts, one of which was at his first ever BE as a 5 year old and one other was completely my fault!

He has the talent and scope to go Novice/1* with ease and has only stayed at the lower levels as I have struggled to finance anything more. He is a definite candidate to qualify for the Mitsubishi Motors Cup and will happily cruise along at BE90/100 level week in week out for someone who wanted a schoolmaster for the lower levels, but equally is a serious talent for anyone wanting to go higher.

He also began competing at BD at the start of this year and has gained 20 Prelim points in only 7 outings and qualified for the Area Festival Finals. He has been placed in every BD to date and always consistently scores 65% or higher and receives very nice comments about his rhythm and paces. He is training Novice level at home and has recently started work on flying changes, counter canter and mediums. He has a beautiful attitude to work, with a lovely trainable temperament and is extremely quick to learn.

He is also a fabulous hacking horse and is absolutely bombproof in the heaviest of traffic, including farm machinery and HGV’s. He never gets strong or silly and goes in a rubber snaffle at all times. Happily hacks alone or in company and has attended fun rides and trips to the beach. He is the kind of extremely rare horse who you can do some serious competing with one week but also go out the following week and just have a lot of fun with.

Whilst he is a very safe and sensible horse, he is also a fit competition horse with quite a lot of thoroughbred in him so can be sharp and spooky at times, therefore is not suitable for anyone not experienced with these kinds of horses. He is a wonderful horse to be around on the ground, with a huge personality and who is always full of mischief. He loves people and cuddles and dunking gloves into water buckets when he thinks no one is looking!

£5000 ono Price reflects the fact that he has very mild bone spavin in both back hocks. This doesn’t affect him in any way, as can be seen from his competition record. This is a heartbreaking sale of my best friend and horse of a lifetime and he will only go to the very best of homes with the right person so I am more than happy to answer any and all questions regarding this.
