Safe, stunning, allrounder!

Full up 14.2, registered connemara, 6 year old, gelding

We bought Lucky a year ago as a project and he has been a dream to own & bring on. Lucky has been brought on slowly in a professional yard ridden by his 15 yr old owner as well as adults Lucky is the easiest pony to do in all ways; perfect to clip, shoe, bath, load & will stand on the lorry all day and not make a fuss. He is so quiet and can be left for a week and will be exactly the same. He will hack on the buckle and step up a gear when asked he has hunted with the Surrey Union hunt and stands beautifully at the meet. Perfect in traffic.

We took him to the NPS summer champs last year (when we had only had him two weeks) & he came 3rd in an open flat class and also qualified for the evening performance which despite the atmosphere he was totally unfazed. He has been to a number of affiliated and local shows consistently winning and being highly placed. He won and qualified for the Picton final first attempt.

Lucky has shown great promise in the dressage arena. with two recent wins with prelim tests at Pachesham scoring well over 70% on both occasions. He moves well and performs an obedient rhythmical test. He would be a reliable BYRDs prospect

He shows promise over fences and is totally unbothered by fillers, water trays etc he is currently consistently jumping around 90cm although we have loose jumped him over 1m40. He has a full brother currently competing in pony trials and he would make a lovely event pony. .

We have taken him XC schooling and he has jumped everything we have asked of him on first attempt. Water, ditches, trekahners etc no problem.

Lucky is a great allrounder and although we bought him for showing he would also make a fantastic pony club pony or Mother/Daughter share. He is a safe and very straight forward ride! He has never bucked or reared and looks after his rider. Happy to live in or out.

He passed a five stage vetting a year ago and never been lame.

Such a sad sale of a much loved pony who has such an amazing future ahead of him but as his jockey only has two seasons before university she wants to gain experience over bigger tracks on an experienced pony. We do not want to rush Lucky as despite being as honest as the day is long he is not yet ready for open worker qualifiers just yet and lack of time due to demanding school hours means running two is not viable. This decision to sell him has not come about easily as he is such a fantastic pony. Ponies as sensible and reliable as him are hard to come by but at this time we need to be looking for a schoolmaster to show our jockey the ropes around the open tracks. He has exceeded our expectations in every way and we will be very sad to see him go. Only 5 star homes will be considered for this special boy(no loans or leases).
